Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….

A small cessna dropping off mountaineer Sam Keam in the base of the Valley of Ten Thousand Smokes, Katmai National Park, Alaska. The Valley of Ten Thousand Smokes is the site of the largest volcanic eruption of the 20th Century, when in 1912 the volcano Novarupta ejected 23 cubic kilometers of ash into the air. The ash settled at a depth of 100m throughout the valley and boiled the water at the bottom of the rivers and stream. The steam that rose to the surface creating myriad steam vents gave the valley its name, Alaska, USA, July 2009.
